## The Real Problem

BASED is a creative studio in Saudi Arabia that builds brands for businesses, from investment companies to cookie shops. Its belief is simple: great design begins with clarity and purpose.

A studio like that is judged by its own website before anyone sees a single project. If the site looks ordinary, the work inside it looks ordinary too. This case study follows the creative agency website design that had to prove BASED's taste in the first few seconds.

## Designed Beautifully, Shaped Purposefully

The hero is the studio's promise set in heavy grotesque type: "Designed beautifully. Shaped purposefully." A small image sits inside the headline itself, and a full-width motion photo in deep red runs beneath it.

Around it, the layout stays quiet: a warm off-white background, black type, small monospaced labels like CREATIVE STUDIO and SAUDI ARABIA, and one bold red. Bold where it matters, calm everywhere else, which is exactly what BASED sells.

## The Work Comes First

For an agency, the portfolio is the pitch, so "Selected Work" arrives early and big. It is an asymmetric grid of real projects, each numbered and named: [Saudi Investment Company](https://aminuix.com/case-study/saudi-investment-company-website), KKAO, Mat Cookies, Rawa Culture and Nabtat.

Image sizes vary on purpose, so the grid feels like an editorial spread rather than a row of identical thumbnails, and a hover state with corner brackets and View Project tells you every tile is a door.

## Projects at a Glance

The work page lists projects as wide rows: the name on the left, the disciplines as small tags such as Branding, Applications, Social Media and Animation, and a large image on the right.

Visitors can scan what BASED did for each client before they open a single project, which helps the people who arrive looking for one specific kind of work.

## A Journal to Show Thinking

The Journal shares the studio's ideas, such as "The Art of Minimalism: Creating Impactful Designs with Less", in a clean three-column layout with black-and-white photography and a Read More cursor.

It shows clients how BASED thinks, not only what it makes, and gives the site fresh content to grow in search over time.

## What I Learned

**An agency site is its first case study.** Every choice, from type to spacing to motion, is a sample of the work clients will get.

**One bold color is enough.** A single red against off-white and black gave BASED a voice that is loud without being noisy.
